National Asylum Support Service(NASS)

The National Asylum Support Service (NASS) is an agency of the Home Office, which provides financial and housing support for asylum seekers and refugees in the UK. The service is responsible for helping to ensure that asylum seekers who are unable to support themselves are provided with the necessary financial, administrative and housing assistance.

The primary purpose of NASS is to provide asylum seekers with access to accommodation and financial support, while they are waiting for their asylum claims to be processed. NASS works to ensure that asylum seekers are not left destitute, and that they have safe and secure accommodation to live in.

NASS has the authority to provide a range of housing and financial support options, including the provision of accommodation in the private rented sector and in Home Office-approved accommodation, as well as financial support in the form of a weekly allowance and an emergency support grant. NASS also provides information, advice and guidance to asylum seekers on their rights and entitlements, and on the
