Community Care Assessment(CCA)

Community Care Assessment (CCA) is an assessment tool used in the UK housing sector to identify the needs of people that require support services in order to live independently. It is a person-centred approach which considers all aspects of a person’s life, including their physical, emotional, mental and social needs. CCA enables local authorities and other organisations to identify and coordinate the most appropriate support services for an individual. It is designed to ensure that people have control over their own lives, and are empowered to make informed decisions about the services they need. CCA focuses on identifying an individual’s strengths, abilities and wishes, as well as any gaps in the support they receive, in order to ensure they receive tailored, appropriate and effective support. The purpose of CCA is to ensure that people are supported to maintain their independence, safety and wellbeing. The scope of CCA encompasses the physical, emotional, mental and social needs of an individual, and is used to identify the
