Tenancy Transfer(TT)

Tenancy Transfer (TT) is the process of changing the tenancy of a property from one tenant to another in the context of UK housing. It is a way for tenants to move from their current home and into a new one of their choice, without having to end their existing tenancy. The purpose of TT is to help tenants move to more suitable and secure accommodation and to provide housing associations with a way to rehouse tenants in their existing properties. The scope of TT includes the process of finding a suitable new tenant and transferring the tenancy to them, as well as the financial and administrative processes involved in transferring the tenancy from one tenant to another. TT also includes the steps required to ensure that the new tenant is suitable and that the tenancy agreement is legally binding.
