Support Service Provider(SSP)

Support Service Providers (SSPs) are organisations that are contracted by the UK government to provide housing support services to tenants. The purpose of these services is to help tenants sustain their tenancies and to improve their quality of life. SSPs offer a range of services, including financial advice, employment support, access to benefits, personal support and advocacy, as well as activities and facilities to help tenants remain independent. SSPs have a duty to provide these services in an integrated way and to ensure that the needs of vulnerable tenants are met. They also work in partnership with other organisations and agencies to address the needs of tenants in their local area. The scope of SSPs is wide and includes a variety of services and activities, ranging from basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter, to more complex needs such as mental health and substance abuse support.
