Service Delivery Methods(SDM)
Service Delivery Methods (SDM) are the strategies, approaches, systems and processes used by housing providers to deliver housing services in the UK. SDM includes a range of activities such as the provision of housing, repairs and maintenance, tenancy management, rent collection, rent arrears management, estate management, neighbourhood management and community development. The purpose of SDM is to ensure that housing services are delivered in a way that meets the needs of the local community, responds to changing circumstances and is cost effective. The scope of SDM is wide ranging and includes the development of policies and procedures, the implementation of new technologies, the use of data and analytics to inform decision making, the delivery of training and education, and the development of partnerships with other organisations. SDM also involves a focus on customer experience, governance and accountability, and the use of customer feedback to improve services. SDM is an important part of a housing provider’s approach to delivering services and achieving its objectives.
