The Housing Corporation (HC) is a statutory body in the United Kingdom responsible for regulating, financing and developing social housing. Its purpose is to ensure that a sufficient number of homes are provided to those in need of social housing, at an affordable cost.
HC works in partnership with local authorities, housing associations and other stakeholders to ensure that the social housing sector meets the needs of those most in need and to ensure that the quality of available housing is of a high standard. It also provides loans and grants to help finance the development of social housing and provides guidance on standards and regulations.
HC also works with housing associations to manage their assets, provide advice, and provide support and training to help them become self-sufficient and financially secure. Additionally, HC works with local authorities to ensure that they are providing their residents with the best possible service.
