Fixed-Term Tenancy(FTT)

A Fixed-Term Tenancy (FTT) is a type of tenancy agreement that is used in the UK housing market. It is a contract that sets out the rights and obligations between a landlord and tenant for a pre-determined period of time, usually a few months to a year. The purpose of a FTT is to provide both parties with legal protection and security during the agreed-upon term. It outlines the amount of rent to be paid, the length of the tenancy, the amount of notice that must be given by either party if they wish to terminate the agreement, and any other terms and conditions set out by the landlord. The scope of a FTT is limited to the agreed-upon term and cannot be extended without the consent of both parties. It is important to note that a FTT does not give the tenant the same rights as a tenant on an Assured Shorthold Tenancy (AST), such as the right to remain in the property until the end
