Environmental Health Department(EHD)
The Environmental Health Department (EHD) is a government department that has a primary purpose of safeguarding public health and protecting the environment. This is achieved through the regulation and enforcement of laws and policies related to public health and the environment. The scope of the EHD covers a range of topics, such as the inspection of private and public housing, the investigation of complaints related to environmental health, the enforcement of health and safety regulations, the regulation of air, water and noise pollution, the enforcement of food safety regulations, the prevention and control of diseases, the promotion of public health education, the administration of safety and health regulations, and the assessment and monitoring of environmental risks. The EHD works to ensure that all housing in the UK meets the necessary standards of health, safety and environmental protection.
