Acceptable Behaviour Contract(ABC)

An Acceptable Behaviour Contract (ABC) is a legally binding agreement between a housing provider and a tenant, or group of tenants, in the UK. The purpose of an ABC is to set out clear expectations of behaviour and to provide a framework for resolving disputes between the tenant and the housing provider. The scope of an ABC covers a range of activities, including anti-social behaviour, noise nuisance, and damage to the property. It also outlines the consequences of breaching the agreement, such as eviction or other sanctions. The agreement is enforceable under the terms of the contract and can be used to seek redress if the tenant is found to have breached the agreement.
